banana apocalypse

So the Cavendish sort of banana is, according to scientists, going extinct within the next ten or so years, thanks to a new strain of fungus and the fact that bananas aren't exactly genetically diverse.

That, I suppose, spells the end of Chiquita Banana. I wonder what sort of banana they'd be adopting and pushing next when this comes to pass.

Not that I care, really. I'm not a big fan of bananas, much less the Cavendish.
